Strengthening Partnerships through the Canadian Armed Forces Small Arms Trainer Experience
With PTW now a member of the With Glowing Hearts program in support of reservists, we are excited to deepen our relationship with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
On July 17th, 2024, PTW, alongside Indigenous partners from Alexander Business Corporation/Alexander Contracting and Construction, Willow Lake Métis Group, and Primco Dene Group of Companies (owned by Cold Lake First Nations), participated in the CAF Small Arms Training (SAT) Experience. This opportunity was assisted by Sandra Sutter, Manager of Indigenous Relations after recognizing an exceptional activity to strengthen relationships amongst our team and our partners at the Edmonton Garrison, while also promoting awareness about CAF and PTW’s “With Glowing Hearts” program.
The training was a fantastic learning opportunity, featuring simulations and training scenarios that utilized compressed air and lasers to mimic the effects of firing. Our group had the chance to handle the C7 Service Rifle, C9 Light Machine Gun, and M72 Shoulder-fired Rocket Launcher. We also participated in range shooting tests used to qualify soldiers. It was an incredibly educational and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sergeant Michael Stapleford and SAT Operator-in-Charge Clay Russell for organizing this event for us.
