2005
2004

Greg Sauviat’s career began in June 2005 with Kent Steel before it became part of PTW. Starting as a night shift welder, Greg quickly showcased his dedication and skills, which soon led him to become the lead hand of the night shift. His career continued to evolve as he moved to days as a welder, took on fieldwork, and eventually became the bay lead on the day shift. Today, Greg holds the position of night shift supervisor, a testament to his leadership and adaptability.

Throughout his journey, Greg has learned an important lesson that continues to guide him: “You got to do what you need to do to get it done.” Whether working through a break to get that extra 15 minutes of productivity, putting in overtime, or simply taking a moment to rethink an approach, Greg emphasizes the value of perseverance and problem-solving.

When asked what has motivated him to stay with PTW for nearly two decades, Greg points to the people. “There’s always been a good group of people I have worked with over the years—coworkers and bosses,” he shares. This strong camaraderie and his unwavering commitment have kept him with the company through the industry’s ups and downs.

Greg’s adaptability has been vital to his success. He notes how much the trade has changed over the past 20 years, and his ability to evolve with it has been critical. He’s developed a forward-thinking mindset, always planning for the next step before he reaches it. This ability to stay ahead of the curve has helped him thrive in his various roles at PTW.

Greg enjoys spending time with his family outside of work, often found by the smoker or grill. A true grill master, he takes pride in crafting mouth-watering meals, whether he’s smoking meats or grilling up something special. Cooking is one of his favourite ways to relax and spend quality time with his loved ones.

Reflecting on his time at PTW, Greg recalls many memorable experiences and projects—some good, some challenging, but all contributing to his professional growth. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of strong teamwork in building a successful career.
